Best Music of 2023

MetaList and my list!

This is my favorite time of the year for music.

At year-end, I assemble a music "best of” meta-list, and my top 10 albums of the year. Always a ton of new music that I missed; and all good enough that someone has put it on their best-of list. I love it.

This year, I've gotten a lot of requests for the list, so instead of the usual Google Sheet and share, I put it in an easier format for everyone.

After my top 10 albums of 2023, there are two lists: Spotify and Qobuz.

Spotify is still the overall playlist go-to, but Qobuz is my streaming platform of choice, for three reasons:

1. a solid mission of accessible, high-res audio,

2. artist pay higher than any other streaming platform, and

3. a store for purchasing non-DRM high-res audio.
